Keystone Ski Resort
Visit one of Colorado’s top resorts, offering ski runs for all skill levels.

Of course, Keystone Ski Resort is high on our list of local attractions. It’s one of the best ski resorts Colorado has to offer! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the slopes, Keystone Resort has family-friendly beginner areas and black diamond runs alike. You can even night ski on select weekends and holidays.
River Run Village
Get acclimated with a leisurely stroll.

Head to River Run Village while you get adjusted to the altitude. It’s an excellent place to unwind, relax, and pick up any last-minute ski gear. Pop into plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops when visiting.
Keystone Snow Fort
Be king or queen of the world’s largest mountaintop snow fort!

Find the world’s largest mountaintop snow fort on Dercum Mountain at Keystone Resort. It looks like a castle and has slides, tunnels, and lookouts so kids can pretend and play. While entrance is free, note that you’ll need a gondola ticket to access this attraction.
Snow Tubing
Fly down the hill on an inflatable tube.

You’ll have a blast at Keystone Resort’s mountaintop tubing hill. It even has a magic carpet that’ll tow you and your inflatable tube — no trudging through the snow required! Check in for snow tubing in River Run Village next to the ski gondola. Reservations are required for tubing and you can make them on its website.
Sleigh Ride

Keystone’s horse-drawn sleighs take you through the Soda Creek Valley and over to a homestead where you can sip hot cider and hear about Colorado’s Wild West past. The ride takes about 2 hours from start to finish.
Things to Do in Winter
Ice Skating
Glide across Dercum Square or Keystone Lake, both popular skating spots.

Skating at either of Keystone’s two outdoor rinks is a great afternoon activity. Head to Dercum Square in River Run Village or try ice skating on Keystone Lake for a more unique experience.
Snowshoeing & Cross-Country Skiing

Is cross-country skiing or snowshoeing more your speed than downhill skiing? If so, check out the Keystone Nordic Center. It offers lessons and guided tours so you can explore with confidence and improve quickly. You’ll need reservations for lessons and tours, so book those ahead of time!

Gondola Ride

Being a skier isn’t a requirement for riding the Keystone Resort gondola! This scenic ride is a great way to relax and get some great views year-round. Hop off to mountain bike in the summer, explore the snow fort in the winter, or simply grab lunch on Dercum Mountain.
Shopping
Shop from quaint boutiques or large outlet stores.

The walkable shops in River Run Village carry ski and snowboard gear, as well as souvenirs and other fun items. If you want to do some more serious shopping, check out the Outlets at Silverthorne. It’s located about 20 minutes away and has popular clothing brands, home goods, and more.
Alpenglow Spa
Get a massage or have a soak.

Take a day to indulge at the Alpenglow Spa located at the Keystone Resort. It’s the perfect way to unwind after long days of adventuring. Services include massages, body wraps, and facials. Winter in Frisco is also fun, given its tubing hill, world-class Nordic center, and more. This charming destination is one of Colorado’s best mountain towns and a great addition to your Keystone itinerary!

Boating

Keystone Lake is a 5-acre lake in the middle of town. It’s the perfect place for summer visitors to rent paddle boats, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, or canoes.
Want to explore a much bigger body of water? Dillon Reservoir is one of Colorado’s most popular lakes, with beaches and an 18-mile paved trail around the shore. Head to the Frisco Bay Marina to rent pontoon boats and paddle crafts during the summer months.
Take a Hike
Find great mountain scenery.


You’ll find some of Colorado’s most scenic hikes near Keystone. Take the River Run Gondola at Keystone Resort up to the Dercum Mountain trailhead. Or check out nearby hikes like Pass Lake, Tenderfoot Mountain, or Sapphire Point at Swan Mountain.
Horseback Riding

Keystone Bike Park has everything from a skills park at the base area to thrilling downhill rides — which you can access via its gondola. Just like skiing, it has green routes for beginners up to double black trails for the daredevils.

Summit County has tons of rivers and streams to fish. But if you’d rather take a boat out on a nice big lake, head to Dillon Reservoir. You can rent boats at the Frisco Bay Marina or partner up with a fishing outfitter for a guided trip.

Yoga is one of the best ways to stretch out sore muscles after a strenuous day of outdoor activities… or to prepare for one!
You can’t go wrong spending a morning in mountain and tree poses surrounded by actual mountains and trees. On summer weekends, take the Keystone Resort gondola to the Overlook Deck for a group experience.
