Phish Fans, Plan a Trip to Delaware This August for the 4-Day Mondegreen Festival
When was the last time you traveled out of state for a concert?
A good number of us would likely answer “never.”
But among die-hard Phish fans, it was probably just last summer.
Few performers have a following quite like Phish. Many fans whom I’ve met have seen dozens of shows — some, even over a hundred. They fly all over the country, jamming out at recurring venues like Madison Square Garden in New York and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado.
On August 15-18, the genre-fluid rock band will draw crowds to The Woodlands in Dover, Delaware. There, it will host Mondegreen, its 11th self-produced festival and the first in nearly a decade.
The four-day event will feature several styles of on-site camping.
Pitch up next to your car or opt for luxurious glamping packages which include temperature-controlled tents and real, pre-set beds. You can also book an RV space with hook-ups or go all-out with an RV rental, complete with power and water service.
Prefer more traditional accommodations? Mondegreen also offers travel packages which include round-trip shuttle transportation to and from the concert venue, plus four nights at one of several nearby hotels. Lodging options are found in Dover, as well as Middletown, Wilmington, and other surrounding communities.
What Does It Cost to Attend Mondegreen?

Including fees, general admission costs $450 per person and includes all four days of shows. You may also want to purchase a GA car camping pass, which runs between $130 and $150 depending on your arrival time.
However, if you’ve been following Phish since the ‘80s, you probably have a few friends making their way to Delaware, too. Festival goers can save some significant cash by reserving an $800 group campsite, which can accommodate up to twenty people.
That said, attending Mondegreen will cost a minimum of $490 — not including transportation costs, food, a sizable stash of weed, and so forth.
Passes to Glen Close, which is the campground closest to the stage, wrap performances and camping into one cost. Per-person pricing starts at $650 for car camping and $925 for RV stays. Note that each Glen Close package requires a minimum of two attendees.
If you can swing it, consider The Full Monde glamping experience. Fancy, furnished bell tents accommodate two ($3,050 – $4,750) to four guests ($4,700 – $6,050). RV rentals cost between $6,650 for two people and $9,850 for six people. All given prices include fees and concert access on all four days.
The same is incorporated into travel packages’ pricing, which ranges from $1,030 to $1,700 per person. Book as soon as possible, as several hotel options have already sold out.
What Other Amenities Are Available at The Woodlands?

All Mondegreen attendees will have access to the following, regardless of their selected passes:
- Shared bathroom and shower facilities
- Free water refill
- Trash and recycling drop-off
- Shared charcoal grills
- Nightly bonfires
- Access to cashless vendors selling food, beverages, and convenience items
Those who purchase upgraded passes (non-general admission) will also receive express entry to the concert venue and a dedicated campground host, plus exclusive dining and hospitality experiences available at all hours.
