Old San Juan is one of the best places to stay in Puerto Rico, especially if you don’t want to rent a car! The historical neighborhood houses most of San Juan’s best landmarks, including Castillo San Felipe del Morro and La Fortaleza

If you and your friends are foodies, one of the most recommended things to do in the capital is to take a  San Juan food tour, during which you’ll try mofongo, local coffee and the infamous Piña Colada.

Romantic sunsets are a thing here! You can take a boat tour to appreciate the old city from the bay, or have a picnic in El Morro’s esplanade.

San Juan is known for its lively nightlife too. La Factoría, La Taberna de Lúpulo, and El Batey Bar are must-visits for bachelorette parties seeking late-night fun. El Convento Hotel is absolutely a top option to stay in the area. This historical yet luxurious hotel with modern amenities will add to the charm of staying in a historic district.

Pros of Staying in Old San Juan:

  • Lots of restaurants and bars

Besides great hotels, Condado houses some of the best restaurants in San Juan, casinos, and bars. The district is walkable but you can also rent a bike to tour it.

You’ll find plenty of brand stores in the area to go on a shopping spree. But you can also take a taxi to Plaza Las Americas, the largest shopping mall in the Caribbean.

To get the perfect tan, spend your mornings sunbathing in Condado Beach, or go kayaking and paddleboarding at the Condado Lagoon.

Isla Verde is great for having bachelorette parties in Puerto Rico without steering too far from the main airport. But, you’ll still have access to some of the best Puerto Rico attractions, including Isla Verde Beach.

A great way to release some stress and spend quality time with your party is to book a group surfing class. The nightlife possibilities are also endless with VIVO Beach Club, Club BRAVA, and Piñones.

This neighborhood is flooded with unique restaurants and bars too, so you’re guaranteed to find something delicious to eat each time (although on the pricier side!).

Best of all, finding a place to stay is easy. The Fairmont El San Juan Hotel is popular for its club and outdoor pool. It’s also located on the oceanfront which makes it easy and quick to access the beach.

Cabo Rojo beaches are without a doubt some of my favorite beaches in Puerto Rico. But, you’ll find much more than beaches in this southwest town.

Cabo Rojo is home to Cabo Rojo Wildlife Refuge and the Boquerón State Forest, where the Cabo Rojo activities include the Pink Salt Flats, hiking, and visiting the lighthouse. In the Boquerón neighborhood, you’ll find nightlife, food kiosks, and beaches and the BOHO Beach Club is the middle of it all, so not only are you centrally located, but you’ll also love the hotel’s swimming pool and extra amenities.

Pros of Staying in Cabo Rojo:

  • Top-notch beaches
  • Lots of great restaurants and bars
  • Uncrowded
  • Lots of free things to do

Cons of Staying in Cabo Rojo:

Fajardo’s beaches are among the most popular in Puerto Rico for snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the Caribbean waters, not only on the mainland, but also offshore.

Explore the beaches in Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve, and don’t miss out on Seven Seas, Playa Colora or Playa Los Lirios. Book a Fajardo boat tour to hop between Puerto Rico’s islands, including Icacos, Palomino, Culebra, and Cayo Luis Peña.

In short, your bachelorette in Fajardo will be all about sailing, sun, sand and sea!

The night in this town, however, hides a unique experience: a bio lagoon. So, make sure to book a kayaking tour in one of Puerto Rico’s bio bays at Laguna Grande.

The best place to stay in town is El Conquistador Resort, which has an on-site waterpark, restaurants, and an amazing view of the East Coast.

Pros of Staying in Fajardo:

  • Easy to island hop
  • Top-notch beaches
  • Lots of bars and restaurants
  • Access to bio bay

👉 Best Area For a Beach Vacation | ✨ Best Culebra Hotels: Aleli CottagesClub Seabourne HotelPosada La Hamaca

Culebra is perfect for a beach getaway bachelorette party theme. Located off the east coast, Culebra offers seclusion in an idyllic Caribbean destination.

Culebra beaches have clear waters filled with marine life, which means they are perfect for snorkeling! Prepare to spot turtles, stingrays, sharks, and fish schools near the shore!

Among all the things to do in Culebra, you can’t miss the chance to get a boat tour to any of the neighboring islands of Culebrita or Cayo Luis Peña. You can also rent a Jeep and adventure into off-road remote beaches.

You’ll find great villa-style hotels on the island, like the secluded Club Seabourne Hotel. But, you can also rent an entire house for your party! The Seahorse Villa is within walking distance of the ferry terminal and it fits a large group.

Pros of Staying in Culebra:

  • Top-notch beaches
  • Remote and uncrowded
  • Beautiful scenery
  • Lots of day trips to neighboring islands
  • Free things to do

Say goodbye to single life by flying over Puerto Rico mountains with the ziplines at Toro Verde Adventure Park.

This outdoor park is home to the longest zipline in America, known as The Monster. But, as a thrill seeker, you’ll also rave about the zipline bicycles, the hanging bridges, and the zipline rollercoaster.

Best of all, you can pay for pick up at your San Juan hotel, so you don’t have to drive in Puerto Rico’s mountainous region.

Hacienda Carabalí Rainforest Park

Go horseback riding along the beach or inside the rainforest.

Horseback riding along the Caribbean beach is one of the best things to do in Rio Grande. Your group will love visiting Hacienda Carabalí for a relaxing horseback riding tour along the northern coast.

However, if your group is more adventurous, then you can instead pick the UTV tour in El Yunque National Forest. You’ll enjoy one of the best El Yunque tours, and swim in one of its rivers. You can pick between one and two-hour tours.

Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve

Explore the beaches during the day and the bioluminescent lagoon at night in this nature reserve.

Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve is where you and your group will get those beach-perfect photos worthy of a postcard. On this reserve, you’ll find great Fajardo attractions such as Seven Seas Beach.

Hiking within the reserve is also a photographer’s dream and it gives you access to unique beaches like Playa de Los Lirios and hidden gems such as La Zanja.

Laguna Grande, one of Puerto Rico’s bioluminescent bays sits at the center of the reserve. You can visit with a group kayak tour like this bio bay kayak tour in Fajardo.

La Parguera

Go island hopping and finish your day swimming in a bioluminescent bay.

📍 Google Maps | 👉 Browse Tours on Viator

La Parguera houses one of Puerto Rico’s bioluminescent bays, and it’s the only one you can swim in.

Swimming in sparkling water on a pitch-dark night will definitely become one of the best memories of your bachelorette party with your friends. I know it’s  one of my all-time Puerto Rico favorite experiences!

But, your adventure can start much earlier. Before visiting the bioluminescent bay, I recommend taking a sunset boat tour to hop between the multiple cays and islands of La Parguera.

Cayo Caracoles is known as the party spot in the bay, and you and your friends will swim around the cay in a lively atmosphere.

El Yunque National Forest

Hike in the only tropical rainforest in the United States system.

El Yunque National Forest is Puerto Rico’s most famous landmark after Old San Juan. The rainforest is the only tropical rainforest in the national forest system and it’s home to hundreds of species.

Exploring El Yunque together with your friends and family means adventure! You’ll trek through its challenging trails, bathe at its waterfalls and swim in its rivers.

Stop at the Yokahu tower to snap a picture of the forest and get a view of the coast. While in the area, don’t forget to spot at Luquillo Beach, which is a short ride from El Yunque.
