Prince Park Tower Tokyo Hotel (My Review)

Published: March 28, 2025
My Review
This is my current favorite of all the hotels I’ve stayed at in Tokyo, and it’s one of my most memorable stays (and that’s saying something – I stay 100+ nights per year in hotels!). If you’re visiting for a special occasion, definitely stay here.
We booked a Tokyo Tower view room and it was 100% worth it. The tower is so close that it really fills the view of the room. I just loved opening the automatic curtains in the morning to see the tower. I also loved that you could see it from the bath while enjoying the jacuzzi.
The room had comfortable furnishings that, though from a different era style wise, were well-kept. Our room was super clean. The desk is a nice touch, and well-angled for an incredible view while working. Other details I enjoyed included the provided pajamas, the huge (almost ridiculously huge) assortment of provided adapters, the separate shower and bathtub, the in-room air purifier, the adjustable lighting, the automatic curtains, the large bedside drawers (not common in hotels!).
The only real con of the room was that, in the high heat of September, the air conditioning did struggle a little to keep up in the late afternoon. It was only really a problem when we the sun was directly coming through the massive windows (closing the curtains fixed it). It was primarily a concern for a couple hours in the late afternoon, but something to bear in mind if visiting in late summer (we visited in early September).
The Prince Park Tower has a ton of 5 star amenities, far more than I can comment on here. There are multiple pools, though I didn’t get a chance to swim. I did use the gym, which was stellar (just be sure to bring clean gym shoes or else they will lend you some). In the basement you’ll find a huge shopping complex including everyone from salons to shops to a bowling alley. The convenience store was great to have just an elevator ride away.
If you book a “premium” room at the Prince Park Tower, you get access to a very nice lounge. They put out drinks for happy hour (perfect for watching sunset), as well as some pretty heavy canapes. You can also get coffee and snacks throughout the day. We used it a ton and absolutely felt like we got value out of the lounge access. It was also never too busy.
One more thing to add is that the service level is incredible. The staff were super attentive and helpful. I especially loved the charming attendant in the premium lounge.
Pros & Cons
✔️ Pros
- Tons of resort-style amenities: multiple pools, spa, gym, shops, even a bowling alley!
- Comfortable quality furnishings
- Well kept and very clean
- Service standard is very high (every time we called for assistance, someone was at our door almost immediately)
❌ Cons
- The location is central, but the surrounding area is quiet, so not so many restaurants or shops outside the hotel’s options
- Hotel does show its age a little in places
- Air conditioning system was a little old
About the Location
The hotel is located in Shiba Park, home to the Tokyo Tower, in Minato City. We loved walking around the park for a relaxing escape from the noise of Tokyo. It’s a relatively central area: you can walk to Roppongi or even Gina, and there is a train station in the basement to go further. That said, the park means it’s definitely a quiet area. If you’re looking for loads of restaurants and bars right out your front door, this is not the hotel for you. But overall, I thought the location was solid.
